The International Charity supper

International Evening and The World's Greatest Meal

The Rotary Club of Lunesdale is one of many Rotary Clubs around the world which participated in this global event to raise money to eradicate the devastating disease of Polio.  Rotary's efforts to eradicate polio have been described as one of the finest humanitarian projects the world has ever known and it is close to achieving its aim. Club members and guests, totalling 85, enjoyed an evening at The Lunesdale Arms, Tunstall on 26th February the week in which Rotary celebrated its 110th birthday. After a meal the highlight of the evening was an auction to raise money for those International Projects the Lunesdale Club supports, including the Polio Project. An amazing £2,332 was raised, Club President Peter Irving thanked everyone for coming including The District Governor Roger Mason and his wife Mary.

Peter also expressed a huge thank you to all the businesses and individuals who had contributed auction lots and to the bidders for their incredible generosity all of which made the evening a very real success.
